2. Can I just come along or do I need to be invited?

Guests are always welcome at our meetings, no invitation is necessary. Check out our calendar page to see when our next meeting is or contact us.

3. How do I join?

Complete an application form available here and pay the joining fee of $115.

4. How much does it cost?

A one time joining fee of $120 and a fee of $20 per month thereafter.

5. How do I pay?

The joining and monthly fees are paid by direct credit. The monthly fee is paid in advance.

6. Who can join?

Anyone! No prior experience is necessary. Rangiora Toastmasters members come from all walks of life and represent many different age ranges, cultural backgrounds and occupations.

7. Do I have to wait until a certain time of year to join?
No, new members are welcome to join at any stage of the year.
8. Why do people join Toastmasters?
People join for a variety of reasons. Some join to overcome shyness, others have a particular presentation they’re preparing for (e.g. a wedding speech) or others want to develop their speaking and leadership skills to help advance their careers. Some people join to meet new people. The reasons are endless.
9. What happens after I join?
You will be assigned a mentor within the club and receive access to the Pathways online programme. We will work with you to schedule you in for your first club meeting role.
10. How long after I join do I give my first speech?
That is completely up to you. Toastmasters is a self-driven learning programme, you volunteer for roles when you feel ready. We recommend delivering your first prepared speech within a couple of months of joining – the sooner you start, the sooner you can make progress towards achieving your goals.
